Online session: AI for research at AAU

28 October 2026, 14:30–15:30, online.

The session is for researchers at Aalborg University. It is held in Danish, with live English subtitles. No registration is required.

Mistral can open new possibilities in research. This hour looks at how to use it responsibly, and what to consider when the work involves sensitive data.

Mathias Hedegaard, Data Scientist at CLAAUDIA, introduces Mistral and shows how researchers at AAU can use it as a support tool. He helped implement Mistral at AAU and will cover safe use, plus the requirements that apply to sensitive data.

Researchers can use Mistral to analyse data, process research materials, automate repetitive tasks, and test new methods. At AAU it is available both as a chatbot and through an API, so it can sit inside your own tools and workflows.

In the session

  • An introduction to Mistral.
  • Practical examples of how Mistral can be used in research.
  • What is possible with sensitive data, and which requirements you need to consider.

Part of Security Week 26

The session is part of Security Week 26, a themed week on security in its different forms, and the close of International Cyber Security Month. Aalborg University and Aarhus University run the week together. Several other sessions may be relevant if you do research at AAU.

If you want access to Mistral, or already use it, see how to access Mistral and responsible use. Questions about Mistral or access can go to CLAAUDIA. Questions about the Security Week programme can go to securityweek@its.aau.dk.
